The Full Debug Symbols (FDS) project uses /usr/sfw/bin/gobjcopy on Solaris
machines to copy debug info from libraries into a .debuginfo file. During the
FDS project a couple of years ago, several bugs in gobjcopy were encountered,
but we managed to develop work arounds. In the last couple of weeks, more
gobjcopy related bugs have been found.
The Solaris sustaining team fixed gobjcopy and other tools in the binutils package
last year and it is time that we updated the binutils on our JPRT build machines:
