FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
Latest version... I downloaded it today... AND subsequently UNinstalled it trying to re-ignite my VPN Connections
ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Windows 8.1 professional 64bit
Network Conncections
inbuilt CHECKPOINT VPN viaa PKCS cert
EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
Have tried this twice on an MS SURFACE Pro 2 (512) Win 8.1pro 64bit
Samsung ATIVPC (64GB) Win8.1 pro 64bit
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Win8.1 Checkpoint VPN (certificate) gets clobbered by installing Java
The Checkpoint VPN(Certificate) app within Windows 8.1 fails after installing Java.
Uninstalled Java (no change)
removed bothe the VPN connection and reset the "connection" (via netsh)
Persistently now, continue to get error in trying to create any VPN connection.
error is:
Error connecting to ...name...
ASN1 bad tag value met. (Exception from HRESULT:0x8009310B)
This is third time this has happened and first time I am relating it to JAVA install (it's the only thing that has been done... was working prior... and fails thereafter)
I suspect ORACLE(Java) is culprit in (somehow) clobbering part of the Checkpoint environment.
