Steps to reproduce:
1. Install and enable NVDA and jabswitch
2. Run SwingSet2 demo
3. Try to highlight elements of "Look & feel" menu with mouse and keyboard

Result:
When menu item is selected by placing mouse pointer over it, NVDA reads just a title.
When menu item is selected by keyboard, NVDA reads its title and then reads whether it is selected or not.

That is probably an expected behaviour.
