With modules then there isn't a traditional boot class path so this API will need to be examined to see how it might be re-specified. One option might be for RuntimeMXBean::isBootClassPathSupported to return false in JDK 9. Another option is that it just returns the suffix, meaning empty or the value of -Xbootclasspath/a.
