Since Apple released "Photos" for OS X Yosemite, replacing "iPhoto", drag and drop of images no longer works between "Photos" and Java. Java receives drag and drop events fine and the "source actions" is also correctly set to "Copy", but tha API call Transferable.getTransferDataFlavors() returns an empty array instead of returning one or some valid flavors (for instance a list of Files). Dropping files from "Photos" to Finder works fine.
