Recently introduced ScrollEvent allow to differ horizontal and vertical scrolling using mouse wheel (usual scrolling of wheel leads to vertical scrolling. Mouse wheel slope inclination/declination leads to horizontal scrolling. Possibly, you don't know, but such mouses exists, Microsoft and Logitech produce such ones).

This functionality should be added to VirtualFlow, the code underlying ListView, TreeView and TableView.
