On x86 Ubuntu 10.04, the default java console is not displayed properly (cut off) when loading a JavaFx applet. On the same machine, the java console displays fine when loading a Java applet

      *** Tested Configuration:
      - x86 Ubuntu 10.04
      - Firefox 17
      - jre8-pit build (b500)
      http://rehudson.us.oracle.com:8080/hudson/job/jdk8_deploy-1-prebuild/ws/bundles/linux-i586/b255-2012-11-20_500/jre-8-ea-bin-b255-linux-i586-20_nov_2012.tar.gz

      *** Steps to reproduce:
      0) Install jre8-pit build specified above on x86 Ubuntu 10.04
      1) Configure Firefox 17 to use the plugin in step 0
      2) Enable 'show console'
      3) Use Firefox to load a java applet
You should see the java console displayed properly. Close browser to terminate the applet
      4) Use Firefox to load a javafx applet, e.g. javafx 8 sample applet
      http://jre.us.oracle.com/java/re/javafx/8.0/promoted/ea/b65/binaries/linux-i586/javafx-samples-8.0.0-ea/Calculator.html

If you see the java console is not displayed properly, the issue is reproducible

See attached screenshots on the same machine, same firefox browser, same tested jre build
      - with java applet, java console displays properly
      - with javafx applet, java console format is incorrect
