Title says most of it, allow the packager to crete debs for the Pi (and other embedded platforms).

There are some quirks that may be needed to make it useful.

      (a) support cross building from an intel based linux distro to an armhf based distro. This would involve the user pointing fx:platform basedir to the desired runtime and packaging that in the DEB and RPM packagers and then setting the correct architecture via scripts or via sniffing the runtime provided

      (b) write and compile launch scripts for armhf and friends. Again, there either would need to be some data channel to tell the packager that we want armhf or sniff that out from the provided JRE.

This would be killer to be able to make all the embedded deb and rpm targets from a single intel Ubuntu semi-annual flavor provided you have all the correct runtimes stashed away somewhere on your build box.
