As far as I understand it's not possible to access individual decoded video frames, e.g. as buffered images (and of course audio buffers for audio data).
This is quite a showstopper for any media rich application which goes beyond simple movie playback.
Thus for future version, enhanced video support in JavaFX, that allows for deeper access into media streams, would be a plus. Generally, this be great for the whole Java platform, as video support has always been one of the weaknesses (especially with JMF gone).
