We targeted iOS to run at 30fps as it seemed at the time to be an apple recommendation as a way to preserve battery life. However this no longer seems to be the general guidance, and at any rate things look substantially better when allowed to run at 60fps. Ultimately we need some form of application specific guidance to tell us how fast we ought to run, but in the meantime, we ought to crank it up to 60fps
