2) Sort multiple columns by holding shift and clicking on column headers
3) Enable the column control menu
4) hide a column that is not the last in the sort order
Note that, if you hid the item in sort order position 3, that the fourth column still shows a '4', even though it should now be '3' (or more precisely, three dots).
