This is definitely a question rather than an immediate bug report, but it seemed odd to me that if I typed in a date such as 12/12/99 that DatePicker would format the date to be 12/12/2099, rather than 12/12/1999. My instinct was that it would go to the nearest 99, rather than the 99 of the current century. In particular, it is not uncommon for people to write their birthday as YY rather than YYYY, and in these cases their birthday is of course in the past rather than the future.
I'm aware that this is likely an issue in the lower-level date / time library that is new in Java 8 (and is probably not considered an issue there either), but I thought I would raise it in case this had been overlooked and is indeed considered a bug.
