The code to add an icon as a resource to the native Windows launcher works but is nowhere complete. At some point we should spend some time making it better: more error checking, work with all .ico files and sizes, feature enhancement maybe even accept .png, .jpg etc and convert that into the icon resource (I think developers would especially like this). Anyway, just to keep an eye on this and not forget that it will need more work in the future. This is related to the bug http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-22598
