Since JavaFX is based on WebKit and other WebKit browsers support the HTML-5 web-worker capability, what would be involved in "turning on" this functionality ? It would certainly be most useful in supporting full HTML-5 capabilities like parallel execution of background tasks. Given the existing capabilities of the JavaFX platform I wouldnt think this would be too big a task to enable.
