In Marina the software-based Decora backends were mostly refactored so that they don't have any AWT/Java2D dependencies. For SoMa we should complete the job so that the Java and SSE backends can be used in other contexts (e.g. Prism), not unlike what we did with the D3D and OGL backends already.
