Windows Vista-business(sp1)/ IE 7/old java plugin mode
Media applets crashes IE 7 on Vista using the latest FX runtime 1.0.1-b93+
This issue appears to be very specific to Windows Vista(sp1)/ IE 7 and the browser crashed only occured when running in the old Java Plugin mode.
Tested OS: Windows Vista -business(sp1)
Browser: IE 7
FX runtime: 1.0.1-b93+
jre: 6u10 , 6u11
The crash is a regression in 1.0.1 and only with IE 7 (using the old plugin). Under the same test condition, it works fine in 1.0-fcs
Steps to reproduce:
1) Install 6u10 (or 6u11) onto the test system
2) Configure Java plugin to use the old Java plugin (from the Java control panel)
3) On Vista, using IE 7 to launch the following wmv mediatest applet
http://nicole1.sfbay.sun.com:8080/plugin_tests/FXMedia/http/capra/integration/unsigned/wmv/640x480at30fps/MediaPlayerNormalNativeWindowsHTTPTest.html
If you see "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and crashed then the problem is reproducible. An example of crashed screenshot attached.
Note: In step#2, if you configure Java plugin to use the new plugin, then the applet loads fine.
The issue can be reproducible always with any media applet on Vista
