When you add the style class of "floating" to a TabPane it draws as if its in the middle of a parent rather than edge to edge. In this style it has a white background with rounded corners to the tab content area. The tab content if it has a background is drawn right to the edge of the tab content area so draws over the rounded corners. This looks bad, it needs to pad the content in a little.
