It looks like ImagePattern applies to every pixel of Text objects or something like that. Instead of picture repeated a number of times it shows uniform color of picture. See application and picture in attachments. Change path to square.png in line 51 to it's path on your computer. To reproduce bug select "Text" in combobox.
