Remove the root element.
Double click an item in the Library ==> it is not added to the layout.
Select an item in the Library then press ENTER key ==> it is not added either.
Only the drag and drop allows to put a new root element.
The two gestures above are doing well when the root element exists: they should be supported in the no root element case as well.
