If the window position is set before the window is made visible, the window is placed correctly in the requested location (the upper left window corner has the requested coordinates). If the window position is set after the window is shown, then the window is placed so that the upper left corner of its content (not the decorations) gets the requested coordinates. Both, the placement and any notification should be fixed to the upper left window corner.
