Import an image on the scene (using the File->Import menu).
Save the fxml file and exit.
Remove the image from the filesystem, or replace it with a text file for instance.
Now relaunch the tool and open the fxml file : nothing is displayed. If one select the IamageView from Layers, the selection marquee are visible.
One should be warned that the image reference is broken, or pointing on a bad image.
