We need a regression / unit test suite that checks that our supported looks actually look the way they are supposed to. We should have a suite that works for both Caspian and Modena and can be extended to cover future looks. In the first instance it is ok to limit it to Modena.

The test suite should limit itself to checking the standard, static visuals of our controls. It should not attempt to interact with the controls nor should it worry about animations or other transient visuals. It should not try to check all the ways the visuals can be customized via the API or css.

The test suite should:

- check each control across each standard visual state
- when differences occur, make it easy to spot the difference in post test analysis
- run in seconds or at worst minutes
- be headless and automatic, suitable for running via Hudson
- allow for easy updates as visuals evolve
- allow text rendering differences to be ignored if desired
