Since 2.2 embedded launcher will attempt to autoconfig proxy. This is known to cause some confusion and bad perf. We have ways to disable it and adding new one in 2.2.2.

We need to add it to troubleshooting chapter but may be it worth to throw paragraph or small section to chapter 5 to explain pros/cons and give more detailed exampled how to disable
this behavior (only applicable to standalone and self-contained apps).
