Due to changes in how Safari creates a connection to the CALayer server, applets are no longer loading in Safari on OS X 10.8. We changed the AWT side of the plugin to handle this case, but because Glass takes care of registering with the remote CALayer server it needs to change its logic when running on 10.8 + safari.
The change is reasonably straightforward, but that's because we are able to make NPAPI calls in the AWT case. We may need to do something significantly different in Glass
