Submitter is looking for TLSv1.2 to be switched on by default for TLS client sockets in JDK 7 updates. I don't think this request is feasible for now. We'll need to analyze risks involved for the wider community.

For now, I propose closing this as duplicate of JDK-8076369. The jdk.tls.client.protocols property will be available to control the TLS protocol version.
