A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The problem described in JDK-8080683 still exists. The original bug was closed as a duplicate, but the referenced bug which it is supposedly the duplicate of (Java Applet Throws NullPointerException at EventQueue.isDispatchThreadImpl() upon Applet Relaunch(2033843.1). ????) cannot be found and tracked.

Another inquiry to the state of this bug (JDK-8140194) has been closed as "incomplete" although all information was provided by means of reference to the original issue description.

If additional information is needed please send email as apparently the bug tracking system does not send update notifiications to the original bug reporter.
