The SurvRateGroup class in G1 contains a lot of old and unused cruft.
A lot of it is related to a mode where the aggregate survivor rates for young regions for an entire run is printed at JVM shutdown. While this code may have had some use during initial development of the code the value of keeping it around until now is probably quite low.
