A DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUEST :
Managing Java installation across an enterprise is painful at best and impossible at worst due to the interactive nature of the Java installer (see bug id 6818480) and the lack of support for commonly used client management software like Microsoft SCCM. By supporting and publishing a SCUP catalog for Java you would enable Enterprise system administrators to trivially manage Java updates across all their systems. JUSTIFICATION :
Java has a constant stream of security updates. The user-controlled self update process is not reliable. An administrator managed " push " system is essential. A SCUP catalog would make this trivial for those many companies using Microsoft SCCM to manage their clients.
