FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
after installing java 8 update 101, I'm suddenly finding Eclipse to be very
unstable, the symptom being that it suddenly closes without any other
sign of distress, or evidence in the log. Since Eclipse is generally very
stable, and the new jre is the thing that changed, I'm tentatively assigning
it the blame.
This may be a red herring, but if you're receiving other similar complaints, you'd better engage the emergency response team.
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Eclipse IDE closes (crashes) suddenly with no warning or post-mortem.
This occurs when nothing is going on in the foreground, as well as
in response to usual development activity.
I can usually run for a few minutes before the crash occurs.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
develop in eclipse
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced often.
