I believe that the method estimateDecExp and other pieces of this code can be simplified to run faster.

If you could provide me with the up-to-date source code of FloatingDecimal and related classes (I have downloaded the Java 8 source code), plus your test cases, I would like to have a go at it. In 1963 I had implemented a similar method at the Weitzmann Institute and I would like to give it a try.
