A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
This is a requirements or user story bug.

This misdirection takes advantage of less capable users (like your parents or grandparents) and requires an extra step for what I am sure is the vast majority of your customers. Less capable users think following the "Recommendation" of Oracle means things will work better but instead it is confusing when their browser suddenly starts acting differently.

So, bundling an unrelated browser default is enough of a bug but making it the default and *Recommended* troublesome.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Perform vanilla installation

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
To install Java, not to have other, unrelated settings changed. Java works no better with this unrelated change.
ACTUAL -
Homepage changed to Yahoo.

This bug can be reproduced always.
