A freetype.dll bundled with openjdk 9 b160 (RI bundle) depends on MSVCR100.DLL but RI bundle has only MSVCR120.DLL. On an unprepared machine plenty of client programs fail because of that.
Now, I don't know who is responsible now for these libraries consistency and put 2d as a subcomponent. If there's an automated sniffer of redistributables, it should be taught to include v100, I guess.
