Attempt to clear cache from JCP, fails when "Keep temporary files on my computer" is disabled in JDK 9. This seems a regression when compared to JDK 8u.
Checked with JDK 9 ea b165 and 8u121 b13. To verify, follow steps as described.
- Open Java Control Panel
- Select main tab as "Web Settings"
- Now, select "Temporary Files Settings"
- Uncheck "Keep temporary files on my computer"
- Click Apply - OK
- Switch to tab "Java cache Viewer"
- Select any or all the items in the list under "User" or "System"
- Attempt to delete by pressing delete key or using shortcut icon X
Note: The application does not get deleted
As a workaround now,
- switch back to "Temporary Files Settings"
- Check "Keep temporary files on my computer"
Click Apply - OK
- Switch again to tab "Java cache Viewer"
- Select any or all the items in the list under "User" or "System" and attempt to delete by pressing delete key or using sing shortcut icon X
Note: The application/s does get deleted now
Also, see video grab (subsequent comment) from the attempt.
