Running the test case from JDK-8179946 (attached) the cached nodes will appear fine at first (the 90/270 degree versions will not appear unless you have integrated the fix for JDK-8179946, though), but when you click the checkbox to install a new cache hint to work around the bug, some of the drop shadows will darken as a result.
