A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
I have been able to install JDKs and JREs since Java 1.1 without trouble. I cannot install 141 either the JRE or JDK.

REGRESSION. Last worked in version 8u131

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :

 jdk-8u141-windows-x64.exe

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
should install JDK
ACTUAL -
Just terminates. Leaves file in crashdump.

ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
no error message

This bug can be reproduced always.
