A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
We've received a few dozen bug reports with a stack dump identical to that of bug 8148342 over the last few years. The most recent was today.

All were on Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 10).

In all cases, 32 bit Java was being used. This is probably significant.

In almost all cases, the file encoding was GBK. We have very few Chinese users, so this is probably significant.


REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced rarely.
