JEP 322, Time-Based Release Versioning (http://openjdk.java.net/jeps/322), came relatively late in JDK 10. To reduce risk, the uses of the old major/minor/security terms in jvm.h and JVM TI were left as-is. These should be revised to the new feature/interim/update terms when convenient. A candidate list of occurrences is attached.
