A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :

After updating JRE with the latest release, the JAVA association to .JNLP files has disappeared.

I was trying to report an issue with your latest JRE updates (161/904). After installing those, the JAVA association to .JNLP files is lost and if you try to launch some .JNLP file you only get an error message from your system saying: “Application not found”. On a closer look, you see that .JNLP no longer is associated with JAVA or anything… It worked fine with the previous JAVA versions (up to 151/901).

REGRESSION. Last worked in version 8u151

      ADDITIONAL REGRESSION INFORMATION:
      OLDER JAVA VERSION INFORMATION :
      jre-8u151-windows-i586
      jre-9.0.1_windows-x64_bin

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
You simply try to launch some .JNLP file anywhere in your system and you get an error message saying: "Application not found". On a closer look you see that .JNLP is no longer associated with JAVA or anything.
