Shenandoah is designed to be OS agnostic. However, minor differences in accepted language features in OS-specific tool chains can prevent it from being buildable on some operating systems. This release includes a change that enables Shenandoah builds with Solaris Studio, the default tool chain for the Solaris operating system. Testing shows that, after this change is applied, Shenandoah is fully operational on Solaris 11.
