Remove unused utility methods in libjava

    Description

      Going through JNU methods after JDK-8230043 I found that many methods are unused, and some aliases are kept around for no apparent reason. There's definitely room for improvement, see PoC cleanup patch: https://cr.openjdk.java.net/~redestad/scratch/libjava_cleanup.00
