A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
When trying to compile my project, the compiler NPE's and dies inside FlowAnalyzer.visitApply (line 1235).

REGRESSION : Last worked in version 11.0.6

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Unfortunately this error came up in the process of compiling a large project, and is not easily reproducible.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
The code should have compiled, or at least provided an error informing me of what code is wrongly written.
ACTUAL -
The compiler outputs a NullPointerException and dies:
                       An exception has occurred in the compiler (11.0.6). Please file a bug against the Java compiler via the Java bug reporting page (http://bugreport.java.com) after checking the Bug Database (http://bugs.java.com) for duplicates. Include your program and the following diagnostic in your report. Thank you.
