I have seen some reports on the web recently complaining that Leaflet does not work with the WebView of recent JavaFX versions.
See:
<https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69872483/leaflet-does-not-work-in-webengine-after-javafx-17>
and
<https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69895487/after-java-update-to-the-version-1-8-0-301-javafx-webview-with-leaflet-draw-circ>
I have verified the example given in the first report (see attachment) and can confirm the issue even with the latest EA release of JavaFX (18-ea+6) on my Mac with Catalina 10.15.7. It seems that mouse events are somehow not properly forwarded.
