A reader occasionally wants to get a hyperlink to a particular element on a page rather than to the page itself. Such an element might be a heading, a section, a description of a Java language element, a code snippet, etc.

Currently, getting such a hyperlink is not easy or even possible. For that reason, the reader might fall back to peering into the HTML source to construct the hyperlink manually.
