We have long provided the ability to change or augment the stylesheet used by the standard doclet, but we do not provide details on how to customize the appearance of generated docs. At least in part, this is due to the complex nature of the content of the main stylesheet, despite having made progress to simplify it of late.
The most likely reasons people may want to customize their documentation is to specify the use of a different color scheme and/or fonts, including font-family and font-size.
It would be nice if we used CSS variables to specify the default colors used in the standard stylesheet, so that for simple use, users could just override those settings.
