With the new Skara jcheck, it is possible to increase the coverage of the whitespace checks (in the old mercurial version, this was essentially impossible).

There is no reason to not have the "no trailing whitespace" rule for all text based files. There is always the chance that spurious and invisible end-of-line changes are creeping in otherwise, making unnecessary conflicts.

I have run a sed script removing all end of line whitespace for `*.txt` in the repository, and added a jcheck rule that will make sure these never creep back.
