      Types.directSupertypes() could specify that when called for a type mirror corresponding to java.lang.Object, it returns an empty list.

      Sure, this can be deduced from reading relevant JLS bits, other elements of the API (e.g. TypeElement.getSuperclass()) or experimenting. But it might be helpful if said explicitly.
