The problem I'm having, is that libiberty.a is in $BINUTILS_INSTALL_DIR/lib64 instead. On the other hand, libbfd.a and libopcodes.a are in $BINUTILS_INSTALL_DIR/lib as expected.
I'm running in Fedora Linux x86-64, with binutils-2.29.tar.bz2 sources, and also tried with binutils-2.41.tar.bz2 (the same happened, libiberty.a is in lib64).
Do you think we should address this? I can live with a local workaround.

We should look into why that is and maybe add lib64 as an alternative.
