Given the desire to use instanceof patterns these days, we should add text somewhere, such as in the `package-info` for `com.sun.source.doctree` to specify a 1-1 relationship between DocTree subtypes and DocTree.Kind.

Maybe it's already there, in a subtle form, in the doc comment for the members of DocTree.Kind, but it would not be bad to make it more explicit.
