NMT reporting code is costly to maintain. One problem that makes changing code frustrating is that all indentations are manual and hard-coded. Therefore, indentations are absolute; one cannot, e.g., re-use code in differently aligned portions of the reports.

outputStream should be able to handle indentation, much better than the reporting code can.
