Recently there have been piecemeal fixes for LTO support, which never really worked afaik.
As https://mail.openjdk.org/pipermail/build-dev/2025-January/048486.html suggests, instead of fixing things piecemeal, the best way forward would be to have an umbrella CR for this work where all work is collected and linked to.
